Activities

Beach/Swimming

The Island where vegetated dunes line long white curve of sands and a coral reef offshore breaks the force of powerful waves rolling in at high tide. At spring tide local people collect mussels off the reef and smoke them on the island prior to taking them home. At low tide the bay is quiet and an easy calm settles on the surf breaking on the beach.

Fishing

Mozambique's coastline's reputation for game fishing reigns supreme, and boats can be launched from fishing resorts almost anywhere on the coastline . You could reel in a barracuda, dorado, kingfish, Wahoo, yellow fin tuna, bonito, marlin or sailfish.

Bird Alert

Mozambique's diverse habitats serve up an astonishing array of bird species. In coastal areas, in season, expect to see Caspian and lesser crested terns, turnstones, sanderlings, whitefronted and grey plovers, woollynecked storks and greater flamingos; also mangrove, brownhooded, pied and striped kingfishers.

Wind in your sails

In such a heavenly tropical setting, it's perfectly natural to want to harness the wind and skim across limpid turquoise seas - and so you can. Choose from sleek catamarans, rough-and-ready sail-powered fishing vessels and jet skis. The Private Island  can fulfil this dream for you.

Animal life

Vervet monkeys can be found in the dune forests and at times can be spotted close to the houses of the private Island.
